Extending more than 4-feet outside the 103rd floor of the tallest building in the United States, the Ledge’s glass box provides never-before-seen views of the city of Chicago 103-stories below. Fully retractable into the Willis Tower, the Ledge’s glass is constructed using three layers of half-inch glass sandwiched together. While the glass itself weighs 1,500 pounds, the box can hold 5 tons – the weight of two average size cars.
