The Palmer House is a historic hotel in downtown Chicago. Three Palmer House hotels have been located on the site, the first being destroyed in the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Soon rebuilt, the second hotel was known for its luxurious accommodations. By the 1920s, a larger hotel was needed to serve bustling Chicago, and the current 25-story hotel was built with over 1,600 guest rooms.
