The Chicago Bungalow style represents nearly a third of Chicago’s single-family homes. Designed to fit Chicago’s narrow city lots, over 80,000 homes were built in the early 1900’s. Distinctive characteristics include brick construction, one-and-a-half stories, full basement, and an open or partially enclosed porch.
